Latino youth and young adults from throughout the diocese assembled at Immaculate Conception Seminary, Huntington, Sept. 1 for the annual Encuentro celebration. The event, sponsored by the diocesan Hispanic Ministry office, attracted 18 parish youth groups totaling 350 participants. Bishop William Murphy was the principal celebrant and homilist at a morning Mass that kicked off the day’s festivities, which included a picnic lunch, games and music.

Bishop Murphy accepts a floral arrangement from Estella Villalobos of St. Patrick Parish, Glen Cove, during the presentation of gifts.
