Fifty children, ages five through ten, gathered for a fun-filled lesson on their faith Aug. 11-15 during Vacation Bible School at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Rocky Point. Classes and activities, supervised by 33 teen and adult volunteers, focused on the theme, “Power Lab: Discovering Jesus’ Miraculous Power.” Vacation Bible School has become a popular religious education tool in many parishes in the diocese and throughout the country. Above, a blindfolded Jeffrey Baylous, 6, is guided by Robert Thomas, 10, as they and other children participate in an activity directed by crew leader Meghan Serdock, 13, center. At right, James Carroll, 6, and Prima Mandolfo, 8, work on a craft, and below right, children dance and gesture while watching a music video.
