Friends of the Seminary

The Friends of the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception celebrated its 20th anniversary on Ascension Thursday with a Mass and luncheon at the Huntington house of formation. Msgr. John Strynkowski, who was rector of the seminary in May 1988 when the Friends was founded, celebrated the Mass attended by founding and current members of the group which supports the seminary through a number of activities including prayer and fundraising. Opera singer Vivian DellaChiesa, who performed the first Joy of Music concert at the seminary, came to the celebration. She is pictured, seated, with Grayce DeLea, the first president of the Friends at right, and Joan McGowan, who was registrar at the time of the founding of the Friends, has since retired and is an active member of the association.
