Learning through play at Our Lady of Lourdes School

Lisa Pryhocki and Jeanne Sihksnel’s preschool class at Our Lady of Lourdes School in West Islip is learning about the five senses. What better place to hear, see, smell, taste and touch than at a restaurant?  The OLL Restaurant opened on Jan. 9 in the classroom where children played the roles of cooks, wait staff, and customers. They were encouraged to tell what sights, sounds and smells were in the restaurant. The restaurant served apple juice and chips to start. The rest was left to their imagination!
