Murphy to celebrate
9/11 Memorial Mass
Bishop Murphy will celebrate a Memorial Mass on Tuesday,
Sept. 11, for all the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001
terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. The Mass
will be offered at 7:45 a.m. in St. Agnes Cathedral. All
are welcome to attend and to join together in prayer for
those who died and for all who lost family members or
friends in those attacks. The Mass will be broadcast
live on Telecare. |

At Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip,
it’s true. Triplets Elizabeth, Christine and Alex Harvey
volunteer as part of the junior volunteer program, donning
red and white candy-striped uniforms twice a week to help

Mass, rosary, “Walk of Remembrance” to
honor priest, others killed on 9/11 NYPD City
Detective Steven McDonald, who was shot in the line of duty
and paralyzed in 1986, will lead a “Walk of Remembrance,” in
New York City this Sunday, Sept. 9, to honor the memory of
New York Fire Department chaplain Father Mychal F. Judge,
who was killed in the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the World
Trade Center — and who Detective McDonald credits with
helping him find forgiveness for his attacker.

Knights send disaster relief to Peruvian
quake victims (CNS) |

New Haven — The Knights of Columbus has donated
$25,000 in relief assistance to victims of the Aug. 15, 2007
earthquake along the country’s Pacific coast. The
7.9-magnitude earthquake resulted in more than 500 deaths
and left some 85,000 people homeless.
