involved in. Some of them tell stories about ministering to
people in prison. Some of them talk about the future priests
studying at Immaculate Conception Seminary in Huntington.
All of them talk about the ministries and good work
supported by the money parishioners give to the diocesan
Catholic Ministries Appeal.

New pastors, appointments, retirees listed

Rockville Centre — Bishop William Murphy has
announced the appointment of four new pastors and also the
appointment of a new director of the Office of Worship.
Msgr. Richard Bauhoff returns as pastor to Our Lady
of Hope, Carle Place, where he previously served as
associate pastor from 1990-91.

75th anniversary

West Hempstead — As parishioners of St. Thomas the
Apostle Church here celebrate the parish’s 75th anniversary,
they are proud that they are, as pastor Msgr. James Lisante
calls it, a “parish without borders,” drawing Catholics from
towns around Long Island with such things as their emphasis
on devotional prayer and their state-of-the-art technology
in the elementary school.

CYO All Stars shine

The eighth-grade division of the CYO softball league
celebrated the end of the 2007 season by hosting an all-star
game June 20 at Merrick Road Park in Merrick. Competing in
the game were 25 girls from five parish teams.

Pastoral Formation
|

St. Agnes Cathedral was nearly filled on Friday evening with
participants in the Office of Faith Formation's Pastoral
Formation Institute and Religious Studies Program.
Certificate recipients and their families gathered for Mass
with Msgr. Robert Brennan, diocesan Vicar General, before
presentations.
