On Sunday, April 20, 2008, His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI will celebrate a Solemn Pontifical Mass at Yankee Stadium sometime in the afternoon. Our diocese has been given a limited number of tickets to distribute to the faithful. They will be appointed by lottery. Thousands march for life in Washington

Washington, D.C. — The streets and the National Mall were flooded with people Jan. 22 for the 35th annual March for Life, and many of them were young — young people in school uniforms and in matching caps and T-shirts, young people holding signs and banners, young people bubbling with excitement for the pro-life cause despite the freezing cold.

Lenten fast: Exercise to build moral and spiritual muscle

When Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, Catholics are called to enter a period of conversion in preparation for Easter. During this time, Catholics are obligated to fast — to limit oneself to one full meal and two lighter meals — and to abstain — refrain from eating meat.

1. Fast and Abstinence
All Catholics who have reached their 14th year are bound to abstain entirely from meat on Ash Wednesday and all the Fridays of Lent. All Catholics between the ages of 18 and 59 inclusive are also bound to observe the law of fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.

I believe that God’s love is everlasting. God’s love never ends even when we think life is unfair to us. In the Bible He is constantly making covenants with man like in the story of Noah’s Ark.
